Fish oil is oil derived from the tissues of oily fish. Fish oils contain the omega-3 fatty acids eicosa pentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosa hex aenoic acid (DHA), perceed of certain eicosanoids that are known to reduce inflammation throughout the body, and are thought to have many health benefits.

Fish do not actually produce omega-3 fatty acids, but instead accumulate them by consuming either micro algae or prey fish that have accumulated omega-3 fatty acids, together with a high quantity of antioxidants as iodide and selenium, from microalgae, where these antioxidants are able to protect the fragile polyunsaturated lipids from per oxidation.Fatty predatory fish like sharks, sword fish, tilefish, and albacore tuna may be high in omega-3 fatty acids, but due to their position at the top of the food chain, these species can also accumulate toxic substances (Credited Wiki) 

Menhaden fish is a popular fish that fish oil comes from.  are small oily-fleshed fish, bright silver and characterized by a series of smaller spots behind the main, Humeral spot. They vary in size but maximum size around 15inches. They are very popular among the gulf and atlantic ocean a booming industry for the fish oil manufactories. Menhaden reproduce year around with the fall being the highest spawning rates. The Atlantic menhaden usually do not become sexually mature until the end of their second year, after which they reproduce until death. A young, sexually mature female can produce roughly 38,000 eggs, while a fully mature female can produce upwards of 362,000. they travel in large, slow moving, and tightly packed schools with open mouths feeding mostly on zooplankten. Menhaden have been called 'the most important fish in the sea for the commercial fishing industry and food chain among the fisheries. It's that' time of the year where we start planning our spring fishing trip. Don't think you need to wait till April to get fish on that line. The warm winter weather has provided with us with a extended season for trout fishing and right about now some local watering holes are getting stocked. 
Be sure to read up on any special regulations on trout fishing this time of the year. Some areas are lure fishing only along with limited keepers.
